Bushka, good afternoon! How are you? We will receive oir oil very soon. Now we have one more question)) Currently our son Grisha takes Frisium (Clobazam) 12,5 mg/per day. I wonder can CBD oil interact with Frisium. Can we start giving CBD oil together with Frisium or should we bring Frisium out first. By the way, it is frightfully, Grisha had up to 100 seizures without Frisium, now- up to 10 per day. What will you reccomend us? Many thanks!!!!dear maria, thank you, i am well, just a little tired after the weekend workshop with a bunch of very nice people. i was teaching them to make cannabis extracts and we were making cannabis ointment, which is a miracle medicine for many health probems 🙂you do not need to stop clobazam, CBD oil can be given in the same time. nevertheless, clobazam belongs to those antiepileptics that can have an interaction with CBD. you just need to check the levels of clobazepam in the blood with your doctor and regulate the intake, if they are too high. CBD can make them rise, but it should not have negative influence on the effects of the drug. see further:Some epileptic patients have encountered issues with how CBD interacts with their anti-seizure medication. A small clinical study at Massachusetts General Hospital involving children with refractory epilepsy found that CBD elevated the plasma levels and increased the long-term blood concentrations of clobazam, an anticonvulsant, and norclobazam, an active metabolite of this medication. A majority of these children needed to have their dose of clobazam reduced due to side effects. Given that both clobazam and CBD are metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes, a drug-drug interaction is not surprising. Published in May 2015, the study concluded that “CBD is a safe and effective treatment of refractory epilepsy in patients receiving [clobazam].” But the report also emphasized the importance of monitoring blood levels for clobazam and norclobazam in patients using both CBD and clobazam.
